Eye Drops – Redux

| | |

Here is a YouTube short video about instilling eye drops

October is one of the busiest months for ophthalmologists.  Each year at this time, we have our annual American Academy of Ophthalmology.  During these 5 days, we learn all about the latest advances in ophthalmology.  One thing became apparent during all of these lectures.  No matter what new treatments become available, none of them do any good unless the medication hits the target.  I’m posting a brief video demonstrating my eye drop technique.  If you get dizzy tilting your head back, then sit down to do this.  If you cannot tilt your head back, lie down to put in the drops.  I don’t have to tell you that medications are very expensive and missing your eye with the drops can add up quickly.  If you need, practice with some over-the-counter artificial tears.  If you are on long-term eye drops, practice this technique and save yourself a lot of time and money.
Next time, I’ll get back to my regular videos beginning with a 3 part series, discussing everything about cataracts,  Thanks for watching, and see you then.
